Next town stop
Run the current search string after a level-up, then leave once one problem is solved. Do not turn every town into a full audit.
Upgrade or reroll the flask around every 10 levels, or whenever recovery no longer saves you under pressure.
Buy movement speed boots when they appear unless the slot is already solving a bigger defense problem.
For attacks, check the weapon first. For spells, check skill-level text and the relevant spell family.

In-play recipes
Use this immediately after a level-up or after reaching a known base breakpoint.
Leave when: Leave when one blocker is solved or when no highlighted item answers the current stall.
Use this when a new base tier starts dropping or vendors can sell it.
Leave when: Stop after you make a clear upgrade. Saving the rest of the currency keeps the next breakpoint open.
Use this when ordinary packs kill you, boss hits nearly one-shot you, or flask recovery feels weak.
Leave when: Leave once deaths stop repeating. Do not keep optimizing defenses while damage is current and clear speed is fine.
Use this when vendors have answers but gold is tight, or when weapon crafting is coming soon.
Leave when: Leave when you can afford the current repair and still have currency for the next damage breakpoint.

Act defense reminders
Cold resistance helps with the act boss. A Sapphire Charm can be enough if gear is otherwise fine.
Lightning pressure rises. Check Topaz-style answers and avoid deeply negative lightning resistance.
Keep elemental resistances from going negative where practical. Do not let old armour bases linger if packs hurt.
Recheck resistances after penalties and permanent rewards. Skipped rewards make later fights feel unfair.
Permanent reward reminder
Reward-marked encounters matter more than ordinary skulls. Before treating the campaign as done, verify these permanent power categories.
